The Chinese New Year celebration scheduled for January 26 on the Student Union Lawn has been cancelled.
“Unfortunately AASA is nxyear-of-the-rooster-lanterns-jpg-pagespeed-ic-nhfxuvenqvot doing that this year due to lack of interest. AASA was planning to have dragon dances, festival games and food, arts and crafts to display and sell. Unfortunately, there was not enough interest in helping make it happen,” said Lyly Van.
Chinese New Year is on Jan 28 2017, based on the lunar calendar. Because of this, it is also called the Lunar New Year.
The event, planned by SWOSU’s Asian American Student Association, was meant to celebrate the Chinese New Year and allow everyone on campus to participate in the festivity.
